A Love Letter To My Daughter

To my daughter,

I loved you before I even knew you. I remember vividly the moment your Mom said, “I am pregnant”. The first moment I laid eyes on you, you were my love at first sight. There was a beauty and purity about you, inexplicable perfection. There I was wrapped around your tiny finger feeling a love that I never knew existed.

The sound of your laughter, the sweetness of your voice, holding your gentle hands, tucking you into bed at night, life with you is better. My favourite place to be with you is every moment.

It is a privilege to be your Dad, I want you to know this. My proudest moments all have something in common, you, and I cherish every one of them. I thought being a dad would mean I would be the teacher and you the student. My little girl, you are wise beyond your years and I have no doubt you are the teacher and I am the student.

I hope you always cherish that playful mind and heart of yours. Do what you love, listen to your heart, ignore the noise and distractions and be true to yourself. Let your light shine bright for everyone to see, you have gifts to deliver that no one person has but you. Share them with the world. You were born of unconditional love, compassion, empathy, gratitude, values, integrity and respect for every being. This is your foundation. On those days that everything feels like it is falling apart, feel your foundation in your heart. It is strong. Trust this.

You are my greatest accomplishment. You are my inspiration and my why. You have my whole heart for my whole life. Forever, I will love you.

Dad xoxo
